Is your dog a "stair-sitting" dog? These are our boys, Gryffin (black) and Odin (liver), Flat-coated retrievers -- often you will find them with their front feet on the floor while their behind sitting on the first step! Common reasons dogs choose to stair-sit: elevation and/or central view (a better view that's out of the way), you notice and admire them there, and it may be comfortable.
